Furniture in Architectural Laminate Colors? Of Course We Do That!

As furniture manufacturers, we at Spectrum Industries are well known for our durable yet stylish desks, lecterns, and laptop carts. Flip through our catalog and you will see plenty of reasons why we can add value to educational and training facilities for many years to come. But what is not shown in our mainstream literature is our knack for customization. As any successful company would, we’re happy that all of our fine efforts appeal to the masses, but we love to show off every once in a while, too! Our Product Development staff certainly has all the talent and tools to do so.

For years now we’ve put together some interesting color schemes in our products. Recently we’ve had architects who have always admired our furniture, but only recently discovered that custom laminates and powder coatings are fair game as well. Our message: Be our guest. By all means, flip through the Wilsonart laminate of your choice and complement it with a powder coating from our partner Spraylat.

Even though industrial color combinations are often the name of the game, our employees honestly stand out and admire the custom-colored media consoles and laptop storage carts waiting to be packaged.

Quality Products and Customer Service

At Spectrum Industries, we believe that making a quality product matters to our customers. Having products that will outlast their users and are adaptable enough to be reused through multiple technology deployments, is what drives our innovation and desire to constantly strive to surpass our customers' expectations. Simply put, Spectrum furniture is made to last and perform for years.

Larry Lindenauer, territory manager with Spectrum in the New England region believes that product durability is one of Spectrum’s strongest selling points. “When I go to schools, they show me purchases from several years back that are still in great condition.”
Mark Dotson, territory manager with Spectrum in the Mid-Atlantic region agreed with this sentiment, stating that “it’s wonderful when demonstrating our products to prospects and customers at tradeshows and they say, ‘We love your products,’ or ‘We have been using Spectrum for years.’ It shows that I represent a reputable and highly regarded c…

New Product: Tablet Locker

We’ve been busy and it doesn’t look like we’ll be taking a break soon! Spectrum’s newest product is the InTouch20 Secure Tablet Locker.

We’re taking a good idea and making it smaller! Adding iPad, eReader or other tablet technology to the curriculum? The InTouch20Secure Tablet Locker is the little cousin to the InTouch40 Tablet Cart and is just the thing for the small classroom. The wire management and numbered slots make organization and charging easy. With the optional Synchronizing Kit, apps can be added and the tablets synchronized. Security, charging and syncing all in a small footprint to fit in the small classroom!

You can look to Spectrum for solutions whether you’re in the market for a lectern, desk and tables, or mobile computing storage and charging carts.

First Wiki Launched Today

WikiWikiWeb, the first wiki or user-editable website, was launched on March 25, 1995 and still is a valuable source of information and sharing.
The concept and development of the “Wiki” came from Ward Cunningham in a hope to create a web page that was quickly editable by the users. In Cunningham’s case, it was to establish and promote an exchange of ideas between programmers within his company.

Cunningham originally was going to call his new platform “QuickWeb,” but later he remembered a Honolulu language term for “fast” used by an airport counter employee. The employee told Cunningham to take the Wiki Wiki Shuttle, a shuttle bus line that runs between the airport's terminals. "Wiki Wiki" is a repeating of "wiki", a Hawaiian language word for fast.

From the “Front Page” of the WikiWikiWeb:

The idea of a “Wiki” may seem odd at first, but dive in and explore its links! The “Wiki” is a composition system; it’s a discussion medium; it’s a repository; it’s a mail syst…
